Wavence: the microwave solution for 5G transport
For Providing backhaul flexibility for heterogeneous and ultra-dense city networks, where microwave transport is used to link small cells with fiber access points, Nokia's Wavence microwave oven now supports Carrier SDN. Operators will benefit from new intelligence and automation, including rapid power-up of virtual network functions and adaptive parameters to support changes in the radio access network, such as when people move from work to home.
Nokia Wavence is the evolution and new name of the 9500 family of microwave packet radios. It is backward compatible with the microwave installed base of Nokia operators and provides a cost-effective route to 5G.

- Ultra-high capacity with outstanding radio performance of 2.5 Gbps on standard frequencies and up to 10 Gbps with E-band carrier aggregation
- Meets 5G low latency requirements, including cloud RAN architecture
- Direct interoperability with Nokia AirScale 10G transport interfaces.
- High-speed connectivity and programmability via Software Defined Networking (SDN)
- Innovative product design with compact broadband/subband radios, dramatically simplifying installation, maintenance and spare parts management
Nokia's ultra-wideband transceivers Wavence provide high-speed 10G connectivity and programmability over SDN to support standard backhaul and front-end Ethernet for a clear evolution to the telecom cloud.
The transceiver Ultra wideband single and dual band radios with compact wideband/subband radios dramatically simplify installation, maintenance and spare parts management.
